About Riverwalk
Riverwalk Plaza was built in 1994 and opened in the spring of 1995. It is not your typical Plaza with a linear strip of buildings fronted by a rectangular mass of asphalt. Riverwalk Plaza's design is very unique. It is made up of three main buildings all of different architectural styles, which are laid out in an angular pattern that follows the banks of the beautiful Genesee River. The Plaza also includes a 2300+ foot long concrete walkway (for which the Plaza is named)that is beautifully landscaped with flowers and trees that follows the bank of the Genesee River. Benches have been placed along its length, making it a popular place for recreational walking, jogging, roller blading, etc. We have tried to operate the Plaza much like a shopping mall. The stores have formed a group called The Riverwalk Association that plans and organizes many activities thoughout the year that are normally associated with shopping malls.
